As I've gotten back into the swing of writing, I've been a touch obsessed with creating the right atmosphere in which I can tap into my creative juices. Among my many blessings is a mother who travels frequently. She loves to bring back treats - tiny shells, shoes, an olive seed, a shell fragment from a long-extinct species. There's nothing quite like holding a strange-smelling carved piece of wood or eating a unique food item to bring me into an expansive state of mind.
One of the gifts she brought to me from her most recent adventure was a bag of tea from Jordan. Hugged in a thick plastic bag, the scent of the blend nonetheless seeps out into the air - a whiff of Wadi Rum, desert sand, and grinning laughter.
Here is a recipe that most closely matches what I can taste in the blend I have, EXCEPT:
- one MUST have sage, cinnamon BARK fragments, thyme, and cardamom. Mint is a plus.
